About Us
Charles/Brown Wood Floors is a custom artisan wood floor manufacturer of high-end intricate designs and specialty woods and grades. Over 30 years ago, in a small shop with few tools, Charles/Brown (previously known as French-Brown Wood Floors) was incorporated following the need for a manufacturing company able to produce a higher quality product, hold down costs, and speed production while never compromising quality. For over three decades, we have proudly manufactured custom floors for homeowners, interior designers, commercial buildings, and Hollywood celebrities in Texas and throughout the country.
Through the years, our manufacturing process has earned numerous awards and recognitions including Floor of the Year award from the National Wood Floor Association of which Charles/Brown is a proud founding member.
NWFA First Annual Floor of the Year Award Winner
Charles/Brown (previously known as French-Brown) is the proud winner of NWFA's First Annual Floor of the Year Award. Featuring this intricate ebony and Brazilian rosewood starburst medallion. The species used to create the floor in the offices of an upscale Dallas real estate firm read like an encyclopedia of imports. There is Brazilian rosewood (jacaranda) and African ebony (gaboon) in the starburst, incienso in the rhombs pattern around the starburst, more Brazilian rosewood in the oval scalloped border around the starburst and rhombs pattern, and tropical walnut (tzalam) in the floor's field and in floors elsewhere throughout the offices. While locating and purchasing the exotic species was a challenge in itself, the floor's detailed patterns represented an even greater challenge. The necessary wood was purchased and then milled it according to the architect's specifications, installed, sanded and finished. Charles/Brown is known for its commitment to excellence and superior craftsmanship.
